The IV University and Polytechnic Scientific Journeys will take place between 27 and 30 November 2023. The conference programme includes the theme “Digital Communication for Health and Science”, which is identified with the societal challenges facing teaching, research, social responsibility and innovation and their real impact for the benefit of citizens.

Committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for higher education, Egas Moniz, as a higher education institution that fosters academic excellence and the promotion of sustainability, has just achieved a prominent place in its first appearance in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking. It came top of the national rankings (of private institutions) in SDG 1 – Eradicate poverty and SDG 3 – Quality health, in line with its journey as a civic university and its mission to “change the world, close to home”. The theme of the Days involves launching the inclusive theme of SDGs 1 and 3 in its action plan, namely inclusive goals and the HEI’s contribution to reducing mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment of mental health and well-being, among others. The aim is to challenge the academic and civil community and especially students to this role of higher education and its mission with societal projects “changing the world, close to home”, the theme of the IV Egas Moniz Days.

The first 3 days will be dedicated to each cycle of studies specifically, and the last day to a joint table, which will incorporate the vision for education defined in the 2021-2025 strategic plan (https://www.egasmoniz.com.pt/media/154672/PlanoEstratégico-2021-2025_Versão-SITE.pdf).

The conference will be attended by students, teachers, junior and senior researchers in core areas such as: Dental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nutrition, Psychology, Forensic and Criminal Psychology, Clinical and Health Psychology, Forensic Sciences, Clinical Analyses, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental Prosthetics, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, Gerontology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Sciences.
